Job Overview:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Sr. Software Engineer specializing in PHP to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing back-end services and ensuring a seamless interchange of data between the server and our users. This role involves leading the design, development, and maintenance of robust and scalable web applications. As a senior member of our team, you will contribute to the entire software development lifecycle, provide technical leadership, and mentor junior developers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Web Application Development:
    • Lead the design and development of PHP-based web applications, ensuring code quality, scalability, and performance.
    • Collaborate with the architecture and product teams to implement new features and functionalities.
    • Contribute to the entire software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment.
  • Technical Leadership and Mentorship:
    • Conduct thorough code reviews, providing constructive feedback to team members.
    • Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
    • Provide technical leadership in selecting tools, technologies, and development methodologies.
  • Collaboration and Requirement Definition:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
    • Work with system administrators to ensure seamless integration with infrastructure components.
  • Frameworks and Best Practices:
    • Utilize and enhance PHP frameworks (e.g., Laravel, Symfony) to develop efficient and maintainable code.
    • Stay abreast of the latest trends and updates in PHP development and recommend improvements to current practices.
  • Database Design and Optimization:
    • Design and optimize database schemas, ensuring data integrity and performance.
    • Write complex SQL queries and optimize database interactions for efficient application functionality.
  • System Architecture and Documentation:
    • Contribute to the design and evolution of the overall system architecture.
    • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for code, processes, and configurations.
Job Requirements
  • Technical Expertise:
    • In-depth knowledge of object-oriented PHP programming and understanding of MVC designs.
    • Proficiency with PHP web frameworks including Yii, Laravel, and CodeIgniter.
    • Knowledge of front-end technologies including CSS3, JavaScript, and HTML5.
    • Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and proficient with code versioning tools including Git, Mercurial, CVS, and SVN.
  • Experience and Skills:
    • Previous experience creating scalable applications.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to project manage effectively.
    • Good communication and collaboration skills.

Educational Requirements

  • BSc or MSc in Computer Science Engineering from a reputed university.

Experience Requirements

  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
